Singapore’s Ministry Health recommendshalf your plate be filled with fruits and vegetables, a quarter of your plates filled with whole grains, and the final quarter filled with meat and other proteins. For lots of people this means reducing grains and meats and increasing fruits and veggies!
2. There’s lots of ways to get your daily intake of fruits and veggies
Not the biggest fan of vegetables, or don’t have to time to prepare a healthy meal? There’s a lot of different way to get to your daily quota of fresh produce, including cold-press juices! Loaded with fresh fruits, vegetables, and nutrients, not to mention tasting delicious, take a cold-pressed juice for lunch or as a midday pick me-up.

4. Make time for fun and mentally challenging activities
Read the latest novel! Do a crossword puzzle! Take an online course! Find an activity this year beyond the work you have to do, and do something youwant to do.
5. Reduce screen time before bed
In 2019, it’s hard to escape constantly looking at our digital screens. Whether it’s at work, school, or at home, technology is simply a part of our daily lives. One place that it is really important to avoid digital screens is before bed. Our phones and tablets disrupt our natural sleep rhythm and prevents the production of melatonin, leading to a reduction in sleep. Lack of sleep has been linked with reduced energy, lack of concentration, and weight-gain, so put those phones down at least 30 minutes before bed!
6. Eat and drink fresh food
Lots of people intuitively know that fresh foods are good for them, but it’s important to make it a priority! Fresh foods means less preservatives and a healthier living.
7.Do your grocery shopping locally
Looking for the freshest, natural, and environmentally friendly produce? Your best bet is to buy fruits and vegetables produced within your country or region. Produce sourced from local farmers are more likely to be fresh and organic. These products will also have a reduced environmental impact since it doesn’t have to be transported as far. There’s a lot of benefits from buying local produce, not to mention supporting your local economy!
8. Find a buddy to keep you accountable
Whether its your partner, sibling, friend, or parent, having someone who knows your goals can be a huge help for staying on track. Workout together! Plan-out balanced meals! Go on a juice cleanse! Making lifestyle changes can be hard, but a good buddy can make it a whole lot easier.
9. Stay Hydrated
The final tip is probably the simplest, get enough to drink! Our bodies are made up of a lot of water, anywhere from 55-75%, so it’s important to stay hydrated. Doctors recommend having 3.7 liters of water a day for men, and 2.7 liters for women, which is a lot of water! Not all of your water needs to come from the tap though. Eating more fruits and vegetables, as well as drinking juice are great and tasty ways to stay hydrated.
